6 new car launches/unveilings in June 2022


In June, get ready to welcome at least 6 new cars on the market. There will be five new car launches (including next-gen, updated, hatchback, EV models) and a major Mahindra reveal. Here are the key details of the upcoming models that will hit Indian roads or make their global debut in June 2022.

New Cars Coming Soon – Launches

Volkswagen Virtus

Volkswagen is set to announce pricing for its all-new Virtus midsize sedan on 9and June 2022. Production and reservations of the model have already started. The new Volkswagen sedan underpins the heavily localized MQB A0 IN platform and comes with 1.0L TSI (115hp/178Nm) and 1.5L TSI (150hp/250Nm) petrol engine options ). Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, and a 7-speed DSG automatic. The Volkswagen Virtus will be presented as a replacement for the Vento. New generation Maruti Brezza

2022 Maruti Brezza Engine

The second-generation Maruti Brezza is expected to see a market launch in June. Major changes will be made to its design, interior and engine mechanism. Compared to the existing model, the new one will be safer with stronger bodywork, 6 airbags, tire pressure monitoring system and hill start assist. The 2022 Maruti Brezza will receive several new features for the very first time, including a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, wireless smartphone connectivity, connected car technology and a sunroof. Hyundai Venue Facelift

Hyundai India is ready to update Venue and Creta SUVs in the country. While the Venue facelift is expected to see a June release, the updated Creta is expected to launch in the second half of 2022. Things under the hood will likely remain unchanged. Major changes will be cosmetic such as the new Tucson-inspired grille, rectangular shaped headlights, new alloys, updated rear bumper with a new fake skid plate and a new tailgate with taillights in the shape of a L. Inside, the new 2022 Hyundai Venue facelift is expected to receive new BlueLink connected car technology and an updated infotainment system. Citroen C3

Citroen C3 price

Citroën C3 will be the French automaker’s second model in India and the first to come under its C-cube program. The company is aiming for competitive pricing for its next sedan. The model carries more of an SUV look with a raised seating position, raised hood and high ground clearance. The automaker says the C3 will offer the best legroom in its class. The engine configuration of the new Citroen small car will feature naturally aspirated 1.2L petrol and 1.2L turbo petrol units producing 80hp and 108hp respectively. Both manual and automatic transmissions will be offered. However, the naturally aspirated engine will only be available with a manual transmission.. More details here…

Kia EV6

Kia EV6 India Reservations

Official reservations for the next Kia EV6 will start on the 26thand May and its launch will take place in June 2022. Being a fully imported unit, the electric crossover is expected to cost around Rs 55 lakh – Rs 60 lakh. The specs of the Indian-spec EV6 are still under wraps. However, it would be offered in a single GT-Line variant benefiting from a 77.4 kWh battery and a dual e-AWD system. Its electric range is 425 km on a full charge. It can do 0-60 mph in under 3.5 seconds. Rumor has it that the company will bring a smaller battery variant at a later stage. More details here…

The next generation of Mahindra Scorpio is expected to debut next month. The SUV will receive significant design updates along with a set of advanced technologies and a set of more powerful engines. Top trims will come with exclusive features such as two-tone leather seats, HUD (Head-Up Display) unit, 360-degree camera, vehicle telematics, multiple airbags and tire pressure monitoring system.
