Toyota India will soon unveil its new Innova Hycross minivan. The MPV has already been unveiled in Indonesia and we have also seen several interesting photos and videos of the same. Outside of India the Hycross is known and Toyota Innova Zenyx and here we have a new video which shows almost all the features the upcoming MPV would offer when launched in India.
The video was uploaded by Toyota Indonesia on its YouTube channel and the video introduces the product – Toyota Innova Zenix in detail. The video is nearly 8 minutes long and shows the exterior and interior features as well as the cabin of the Innova Hycross. Starting with the exterior, the upcoming Toyota Hycross is different from the outgoing Crysta. The overall exterior design of the Innova Hycross resembles a crossover or SUV rather than an MPV. The car has several elements like a full LED headlight unit, a large grille with gloss black surrounds, a completely redesigned bumper with a new lip spoiler. There are a few LED fog lights just above the bumper spoiler.

Even from the front, the Hycross looks muscular and SUV-like. At the rear, the MPV has a typical Toyota design with a roof-mounted spoiler, LED taillights, a fake rear skid plate, parking sensors, and more. The MPV comes with 18-inch alloy wheels with a new design. Compared to Innova Crysta, Hycross is longer and wider. It is 1,850mm wide and 4,755mm long. Toyota Innova Hycross is based on the TNGA platform which is a unibody construction. The outgoing Innova Crysta is a chassis-mounted ladder minivan.
As for the cabin, Toyota has finally started offering a much more modern interior with Innova Hycross. The cabin is equipped with a large panoramic sunroof with ambient lighting on both sides. There are roof-mounted AC vents and a semi-digital instrument panel is also shown in the video. Just like Innova Crysta, Hycross is also an MPV with three rows of seats. Second row passengers get captain’s chairs and higher variants also offer power reclining seats with leg rests for second row passengers. Apart from that, Toyota also offers a 10-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system. There’s even an option for two 10-inch rear entertainment screens in the international variant.
The seats are wrapped in two-tone leather upholstery, and the steering wheel has controls for the touchscreen and cruise control. The car also offers a voice-activated power tailgate. A wireless phone charger and a 360-degree camera are also offered with this new minivan. This would probably be the most feature-laden Toyota as far as India is concerned. Toyota also offers features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist with the new Innova Hycross. Toyota also offers a pre-collision automatic emergency braking system with the Hycross.
Toyota also offers several connected car features with the Hycross like many other manufacturers. Let’s come to the engine and transmission option. Toyota Innova Hycross will be offered with a gasoline engine only. The 2.4-liter turbo diesel engine is expected to be replaced with a powerful hybrid version for better fuel efficiency. There will be a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter gasoline engine that would be offered with the lower Innova Hycross variants. It will be offered with both manual and automatic transmission option. Higher variants are more likely to get the powerful hybrid engine. It will also be a 2.0-liter engine with a powerful hybrid system like the Hyryder. It will have a dedicated EV mode and will also offer better fuel efficiency.
Toyota will officially unveil the MPV in India on November 25. We have to wait and see if Toyota will offer all these features in the Indian version or if they will just reduce the features like they have done in the past. The price is also going to be a factor as Innova is an MPV which has a large fan base in India.
