Ford F-150 Raptor MHC 018 THE RAPTOR-R by Ash Thorp

Over the past year or so, we’ve enjoyed the rendered works of the “Make Haste Corp” series by Ash Thorp and Carlos “colorsponge” Pecino a lot, as it has brought the pair of world-renowned concept artists out from their comfort zone and further hone their already unrivaled design skills. And after previously revealing his Touring Car and Le Mans-style Ford Mustang “BELLADONNA”, Thorp has now launched the next installment in the MHC series with the RAPTOR-R.

Based on Ford’s latest F-150 Raptor and drawing inspiration from the new Bronco DR, Thorp gave the high-performance pickup the pre-racer treatment, giving the donor a full Baja-grade roll cage, massively raised lift -kit, a set of off-road-specific wheels wrapped in beefy BFG desert race tires, a heavily modified hood that’s secured via DZUS tie-downs, and a modified front end and grille with a deleted bumper, plate protection and an integrated eight-LED lightbar setup that is complemented by a full-length lightbar mounted just above the windshield.

Now exposed thanks to a deleted tailgate, the heavily modified F-150 Raptor’s bed sports a custom roll cage extension, fuel tank, exposed suspension linkages and what appears to be a nitrogen tank, while the he rear end of the cabin is capped with a spoiler-esque carbon fiber aerodynamic piece. Just behind the driver and passenger windows are a set of air intakes that funnel air into the engine at the heart of the construction. Alongside the RAPTOR-R, Thorp’s friend and collaborator – and the other half of MHC – colorsponge simultaneously unveiled their vision for a rugged Baja-style pre-racer with a BMW X5-based off-roader that he christened “THE META” – or CMH 017.

In typical Thorp fashion, the artist’s latest work is imbued with realism and seems as functional as it is well executed. Even more than normal, however, the MHC 018 manages to brilliantly merge aggressive automotive design traits with a sleek and thoroughly futuristic visual theme – although that’s about what you’d expect from the selected one. to write the latest Batmobile.
