Mahindra XUV300 Leak Update Ahead Of Official Launch

Mahindra is set to launch the updated XUV300 tomorrow and much to their dismay, the compact SUV has been leaked. Considered as the “Sportz” model, this new avatar of the XUV300 will bring many aesthetic and mechanical changes. The XUV300 Sportz made its public debut a few years ago at the Indian Auto Expo and it will finally be launched tomorrow. Let’s see what’s new:

The leak suggests that the XUV300 will come in a new mustard yellow color with a two-tone black roof. There will also be an option of white and black colors as well as monotone. The front features the most significant changes in which the front grille houses Mahindra’s new Twin Peaks logo. The grille has also been blacked out and receives red accents. The same red accents can also be found below in the Air Dam. The rest of the design elements remain the same with the familiar projector headlamps with LED DRLs extending to the fog lamps. The side features new 16-inch alloy wheels which were recently introduced in the current model.

The ORVMs are blacked out and the bottom half of the doors have some sort of coating. The rear is more or less the same, the only change being that the variant badge is now colored red. The interiors are more or less similar to the outgoing version, however, we expect it to have red accents all around. In terms of features, the XUV300 will come with dual-zone climate control, 6 airbags, front parking sensors, front tire position indicator coupled with a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a start/stop button, rain-sensing wipers, etc.

The biggest change in the updated XUV300 will be the addition of a new engine. The new 1.2-litre TGDI engine is part of the mStallion petrol engine range, it produces 130hp of power and 230Nm of torque, an increase of 20hp and 30Nm over the current petrol engine which powers the XUV300. This new engine uses direct injection instead of multipoint fuel injection and was mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Mahindra could also pair it with an AMT. The 1.5-liter diesel engine should remain unchanged.
