Petrol version of the Jeep Avenger fully revealed in the clearest images


American SUV maker Jeep is set to introduce the production version of the Avenger compact SUV in Europe and other international markets. Designed to be the brand’s smallest SUV, the new Jeep Avenger is also expected to launch in our market in 2023-24. The company only unveiled the electric version of the compact SUV; However, the The online configurator on the Jeep Europe website confirms that the small SUV will also come with a turbo petrol engine.

Before the official launch, the clearest spy images of the new Jeep Avenger petrol version leaked on the internet. Vehicle spotted without any cover and reveals all design clues. Additionally, the rear profile shows an exhaust pipe which further confirms that this is a petrol version.

The new Jeep Avenger will be positioned below the Renegade compact SUV. The new compact SUV is 4.08 meters long, making it 6 inches shorter than the European-spec Renegade. In fact, the overall size of the Avenger is similar to that of a Hyundai Venue for sale in global markets. The SUV has a ground clearance of 200mm, which is best in class. The SUV has off-road capability with 20 degree approach, 20 degree overrun and 32 degree departure angles. The EV comes with short overhangs and underbody skid plates to protect the battery.

The speckled model appears to be the worst-performing model, as it comes with a blacked-out grille devoid of any chrome. It features a 7-slat grille, stylish headlights and high-mounted LED daytime running lights all mounted in a single housing. The polka dot model has a wide air dam finished in black and a slimmer air inlet placed between the grille and the lower air dam. The fog light block is also placed on the edges of the lower bumper. There is a skid plate positioned just below the bumper.

The Jeep Avenger has thick body cladding all around the body, functional roof rails, pronounced wheel arches, multi-spoke alloy wheels and C-pillar mounted rear door handles. on 18-inch wheels; however, the recent spy suggests the petrol version could have 17- and 18-inch wheels. The rear bears similarities to the Compass SUV in terms of overall appearance. It gets X-shaped LED taillights set in a rectangular-shaped housing, a relatively simple tailgate and a blacked-out lower bumper with a silver skid plate.

Official images reveal that the Jeep Avenger cabin will feature a 10.25-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen atop the dash with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SAT NAV, voice recognition and OTA updates. The lower variants will have a 7-inch screen, while the higher variants will have a 10.25-inch screen. The dashboard design looks inspired by the Wrangler, with a contrasting body-color panel across the width of the car, a 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel and an open dash storage shelf. The SUV will feature power-adjustable front seats with heating and massage function, ambient lighting, wireless smartphone charging, automatic climate control and a hands-free power tailgate. The speckled model lacks a sunroof; however, this feature will come with the top-end model.

The online configurator confirms that the new Jeep Avenger will be powered by a 100 hp, 1.2-litre GSE turbo petrol engine. The ICE version will be offered with a manual gearbox, with the automatic version coming later. The Avenger is designed and developed on the modular CMP platform that underpins the Peugeot 2008, DS Crossback and Opel Mokka.

The new compact SUV should also be launched in our market. The Indian-spec model will likely be around 4 meters in length and cost around Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh. Jeep could also launch the electric version of the SUV, which is supposed to offer a range of up to 550 km.
