With 2021 marking Royal Enfield’s 120th anniversary, the British and Indian outfit have chosen to mark the illustrious occasion via the release of numerous special and limited edition products. And after previously revealing a dozen models of commemorative motorcycle helmets, the company has now announced another special version marking the occasion with what the brand has dubbed the Royal Enfield 120th Anniversary Limited Edition Twins.

Designed to showcase the brand’s long-standing construction traditions, RE’s 120th Edition bikes feature limited-edition versions of the motorcycle manufacturer’s Continental GT and Interceptor 650 models. Both bikes feature a special black chrome finish that was first developed at RE’s original factory at Thiruvottiyur in Chennai. In addition to the striking appearance of this finish, the construction also comes from significantly more sustainable and environmentally friendly techniques.

The 120th Edition Continental GT and Interceptor 650 were also treated with hand-applied striping that pays homage to RE’s Madras stripes, special anniversary badging, serialized plaque adorning the tank, diamond-stitched brown leather seats. customized with the embroidered RE logo, and a matching set of brown handles. Additionally, both bikes also feature a handcrafted brass tank badge, produced by a family of artisans in Tamil Nadu, India, with several generations of experience crafting brass statues and figurines. Further distinguishing the 120th Anniversary Twins from the regular models, there are a host of factory options that are all standard – and blacked out – on the LE bikes, such as a handlebar reinforcement pad, skid plate, heel guards and handlebar or touring mirrors. .

Both bikes are available now, however, rather than being sold through traditional channels, Royal Enfield’s 120th Editon Twins are being offered through an application and lottery process where interested parties are asked to complete an application form. registration which will yield a unique code number which can be used to purchase one of two motorcycles online – while supplies last. Only 480 units are produced in total, with 60 Continental GTs and 60 Interceptor 650s each destined for the Indian, European, American and Southeast Asian markets.
