The Chevy Silverado has received a substantial update for the 2022 model year. So what’s the real story here? Are there any features you should look at? The new Chevy Silverado ZR2 is now the flagship of Chevy trucks.

So let’s take a look at the 2022 updates.

The new Silverado ZR2 gets an upgrade to the already excellent 6.2L V8 engine. The new engine has been tuned to deliver more power while maintaining the same fuel economy.

The new engine develops 420 horsepower, 460 lb-ft of torque, 7,000 rpm and a redline of 5,300 rpm.

Thanks to a new intake manifold, camshaft, cylinder heads and injectors, engine efficiency has increased by 3%. This brought engine efficiency to a combined 20 mpg.

Not only does this help on the race track, it also helps in low traction situations. With the flick of a switch, you can lock the front and rear differentials, helping you navigate tough off-road terrain.

When in low range, the front differential locks, giving you the power you need to power through tough terrain.

Multimatic shocks are new to most Chevy trucks, and they’re a substantial upgrade. These shocks are adjustable, which means you can simply adjust the shock to your liking (without any tools).

You can also adjust it according to the terrain you are driving on, giving you better handling. The shocks adapt to your ride, allowing for a tailored ride.

The new Chevrolet also features an all-terrain suspension and chassis that includes Terrain mode. This allows the car to adjust the suspension and chassis.

In Terrain mode, the car is lowered, the suspension increases travel, and the anti-roll bars activate. Traction control is also disabled.

In Sport mode, the car is set up for on-road driving. The suspension remains stiff and the traction control is activated.

The skid plate assembly is all new for the Silverado ZR2. This set comes with skid plates, which are useful when riding on rocky terrain.

The skid plate package also includes 4-wheel disc brakes, which are more than enough to slow this beast down and further enhance its off-road capabilities.

The new front bumper has been improved to protect against rocks, branches and other obstacles. The new bumper is also stronger and more durable, which is a crucial upgrade.

The new ZR2 is not the only version to have received significant improvements. Let’s see how the other versions compare.

The exterior design has been further simplified, making it look even better than before.

The most important exterior change is, without a doubt, the front. The grille design is still the rugged design we all look for in the Chevy, but it’s better. It now supports lower lights to showcase the strength of the truck

The lights are made up of LED lights, giving them a futuristic look. The car’s hood is also more aerodynamic, giving it better fuel efficiency. Additionally, Chevrolet is introducing three additional colors to the lineup.

  • dark ash
  • Sand dune
  • Ice blue metallic

With a redesigned interior, it’s more appealing than ever. The interior has soft-touch materials and contrasting colors.

The seats are also heated, ensuring you stay warm in cold weather. The car also has a refrigerated glove box, which you can use to keep your drinks cold.

The infotainment system is also upgraded to include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This allows you to keep your phone nearby without it being in the way.

The new Silverado comes with the highest level of security. It includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning system, automatic braking, lane departure warning system and automatic parking assist.

The truck also has lane-keep assist, which helps you stay in the lane if you’re tired or want to pull out for an emergency vehicle.

The performance of the new Silverado lineup has also been significantly improved. The new Silverado offers more power and torque and more fuel efficiency.

Under the hood, the truck features a new 2.7-liter turbocharged engine, which is more powerful than the previous generation.

The engine also features a new eight-speed automatic transmission and 20% more torque, which makes driving all the more enjoyable.

Each of the Silverado truck versions includes Super Cruise driver assistance.

You can activate the feature by pressing a button on the steering wheel, allowing you to take your hands off the wheel and walk away from the car.

It also monitors your attention span using an infrared camera. If the system notices that you are not paying attention, it will warn you by vibrating the steering wheel, so you can take control of the steering wheel and drive safely.

The Z71 trim comes with a recovery hitch and trailer sway control, so you can tow your trailer with confidence.

All-Terrain, LT, RST, SLT and LTZ trims come with a MyLink radio. LT and SLT versions are equipped with a premium audio system, including Bose speakers.
